Heritage Education

History is more than stories. It's an enrichment of the spirit.

The Atlanta Preservation Center's Heritage Education Programs teach youth and adults about Atlanta's rich history.  Programs use walking tours, interactive classroom presentations and lectures to bring to life the importance of the past.

While the majority of our programs are directed towards youth, they are adaptable to adult audiences.  New programming is continually being developed to meet the needs of the audiences we serve.  We serve more than 150 public schools throughout metro Atlanta as well as many area private schools and youth and senior groups.

Scholarships are available for Heritage Education Programs on a limited basis.  Eligible recipients include schools, youth and adult groups, community groups and libraries located in Fulton County and the City of Atlanta.  Funding is provided in part by the Fulton County Commission under the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council and by the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs.
